Localchella 2017

Since 2012, the Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival, has been occurring on two consecutive weekends. For bands that don't tour the US on a regular basis.
Music venues and promoters, created an opportunity to book shows. During the week in between Coachella weekend 1 and 2. Which in effect made Localchella!

Localchella: Attending concerts, of bands or a musician, that are playing at Coachella.  At music venues in Los Angeles or San Diego.

The first Localchella concert came from the group Little Dragon. Hailing from Sweden, Little Dragon has a cult following. The band formed in highschool in the mid nineties. Bonding over their love for nineties R and B crooner Ginuwine.

Little Dragon released a new album last Friday titled Season High. The band performed in support of the album. Along with an encore of Little Dragon's classics. The show had great lighting, with the lead singer donning an iridescent veil.
That changed colors, with the lighting throughout the show! After streaming the festival over the weekend. It was like being in a tent at Coachella.

The following night, Localchella took us to the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.
To witness the LA debut for UK grime hip-hop star Skepta. Skepta had problems with his Visa last year, and could not tour in the US. Skepta got the green light this year, and made his West Coast debut at Coachella. Which did not get streamed on YouTube.

Skepta's Konnichiwa album was on heavy rotation last year. So it was magnificent to watch him perform with projected images of his music in the background.

So far,  Localchella has been fun seeing Little Dragon. Plus, Skepta's Banned From America tour. Still have two more concerts to attend ( Little Simz is the next show)! Localchella gives the opportunity to see rare acts, perform intimate shows.
If you don't attend Coachella next year, Localchella is another option!
